Curtis & Cassidy's Winter Wonderland Wedding

I don't know if it's because I grew up in a small town, but there is something about small town weddings that I absolutely love. I was so thankful that Cassidy and Curtis selected me as their photographer to capture their wedding day memories in Ponoka AB. And! We got fresh snow! :)

After checking in with the bride, I went down to the groom's room to see if I could capture a few photoss. And good timing!  He was already half-dressed.  Anxious? :)

Cassidy's room was a busy place.  It always makes me smile when I'm in the presence of all the love from family and friends before the ceremony.

What a stunning bride, and beautiful bridesmaids!

The ceremony was help at Moose Hall in Ponoka.  Aside from the icy roads that day, it was actually a beautiful winter day.  Cassidy and Curtis were high school sweeties, and family watched on with smiles as these two exchanged vows.

Off we went outdoors for some winter formal portraits of the bride and groom and their wedding party.

The location was beautiful.  And with the sun on it's way down, it created some nice lighting towards the end of our formal portraits shoot.  (Can you see the deer on the left side of Curtis?  It stayed for the session, so I tried to include it.)

Moose Hall was beautifully decorated.  (I love how the moose even dressed up for the event.) :)
And I love how more tables came out to make more room for seating.
There were a lot of laughs during the speeches. Well done!

A beautiful winter-wonderland cake, and a candy table!  There was no way anyone's sweet tooth could not be satified.

Once again, congratulations Cassidy & Curtis.  It was a treat to capture your wedding day!

Lindzey & Tyrel's (cold) wintery engagement shoot

The plan was outdoor engagement photos....reality was -25C-ish winter weather on a February day in Alberta. Meet Lindzey and Tyrel. They are one of those couples that you feel good being around them--very easy-going and very in love. And even though it was so damn cold out, they still wanted photos done that day...so off we went to find an alternative indoor location at one of the nearby hotels.

This is one of my favourite shots. I love how he had his thumbs on her chin. :)

After using 3 floors at the Franklin's Inn, we all agreed to head outdoors for a few quick shots at a covered wooden bridge, and am I glad! My favourite type of shots are outdoor shots! And see.... they don't even look all that cold here. ;)

The wind was nasty-cold in the unprotected areas on this bridge, but they were great sports! "It's all about the shot", right? :) (And aren't those boots fantastic!)

Lindzey and Tyrel, when you think back to this day we shot your engagement photos, your destination wedding will be so much more enjoyable! All the best to these two.... they will be together forever. :)

"Pleasantville" Wedding :)

Ever been to the Village at Pigeon Lake? What a busy neat little village! Leslie & Travis exchanged their vows outdoors at "Pleasantville" and I don't think they could have asked for a better day. It stopped raining for the day of their wedding, and then started back up the day after I think. :)

This photo pretty much portrays the whole "bride getting ready". The girls reminisced and laughed a lot in a very relaxed atmosphere.

The flowers were amazing! The bride's bouquet had bling!

I love this shot. My only regret is not being able to get to the other side to see the bride's face. :)

It was so nice to have a lot of time between ceremony and reception to take formal portraits, as we got to do some fun shots too.

Congratulations, Leslie & Travis! Thank you for letting me be part of your day. :)

Angela & Dan's Big Day

The weather may have interfered with their initial plans to be married outdoors, but Ang & Dan's wedding was so beautiful indoors. It was a small intimate wedding with family and friends witnessing the exchange of wedding vows. The sand ceremony included their children... it was a beautiful ceremony! Thanks for letting me be part of your day! :)

Rainy Engagement Session

This was a first for me! I've photographed twice with the snow falling, which were maximum 15 minute sessions. I thought this rainy day would allow our photo session a few quick shots and then we'd move indoors...but to my surprise, we ended up taking all the shots outdoors and they turned out great! ...And I got to practice juggling a couple cameras and an umbrella. :)

Welcome Cailyn! - It's a girl!!

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful mom of two boys. When I photographed her maternity session--some alone, some with hubby, and then some with the whole family--I thought she was a great mom. And then when I went back to take more photos of the new addition, I saw that she was an amazing mom. Congrats on the arrival of your baby girl, Tammy!

Let the Wedding Season Begin!

Wes & Carrie's wedding is one that will be remembered and talked about for years. Not only did we witness an amazing couple exchange their vows, but also their spring wedding had a bit of a winter feel on May 29th. The groom's brother worded it the best... "it's a beautiful day because you're getting married..."

I love that they wanted to have some outdoor photos. It was a quick-quick-quick outdoor shoot...the snow was coming down in big flakes and melting as soon as it landed on us, and it was windy! But wow, did the green leaves and grass ever pop with all that snow! :)

Congratulations Wes & Carrie! Thanks for letting me be part of your perfect day! :)
